General Description
Guitars 4 Gifts is a 501(c)(3) organization which provides musical instruments and teaching aids to underprivileged youth and veterans through established organizations.
Priorities
The Board Member will
Work with other board members to oversee financial, marketing, and legal aspects of Guitars 4 Gifts.
Use their talents to enhance Guitars 4 Gifts existing programs and create new ones.
Detailed Description
The Board Member must attend a minimum of three board meetings over the course of the year. They should expect to receive periodic updates via email on organizations who want to receive items and status of ongoing operations. Board members are able to take part in the selection process for receiving instruments but are not required to. The Board Member should help plan at least one fundraising event over the course of a year or help establish relationships with potential donors.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong networking and leadership skills, as well as be involved in their local community. They will show an enthusiasm for music and music education. Board members will be creative and effective in carrying out responsibilities.
