Case: Kennedy Violins

Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center and Children’s Hospital

We were able to coordinate donating 40 guitars to Vanderbilt’s music therapy programs. The guitars will be available to patients across the hospital to use while they are receiving treatments. Nashville’s local CBS affiliate covered the story. In the segment, music therapist Emily Owens said,

“The 40 donated guitars will make a major difference in patient care. ‘We can do therapeutic music instruction with them at the bedside, finding ways to learn instruments that may be comfortable for them.’ Now, the music therapy team doesn’t have to worry about having enough instruments, allowing them to focus on the music. ‘These instruments are going to be accessible to people at the hospital who may not have access to these instruments at home”

The Store

The Store is a Nashville-based non-profit founded by Brad Paisley and Kimberly Williams-Paisley that fights food insecurity in Nashville. Every year they host a Christmas store where local families can select gifts for their children. We were honored to have helped them serve 800 families this Christmas.

We were able to coordinate social media coverage of the donation with their foundation’s page, which includes over 33,000 followers.

Pinellas County

50 guitars were donated to Pinellas County Schools, helping to restore music programs where instruments were lost due to the recent hurricanes, leaving students without essential tools for music education.

Recipients included Disston Academy based in Gulfport, whose mission is to educate and prepare each student for college, career, and life through the expectation of performance and infusion of pride. Thanks to this donation, Disston Academy and other schools in the Pinellas School District can continue offering music education as part of their curricula.
